Coffee Fest

presents the

Latte Art World
Championship Open

Welcome to the Coffee Fest Latte Art World Championship Open. This exciting 64 competitor, bracket style, sudden death format features head to head competition as "a match" between the competitors. The competitor receiving the highest score from the three judges advances to the next round and the loser is eliminated. Competitors are given three minutes to produce one drink for the judges, which is then scored against the competitor at the facing machine.

Judging is Based on Five Categories:
1) Aesthetic Beauty
2) Definition
3) Color Infusion
4) Degree of Difficulty and Creativity
5) Speed

Judging Categories Explained Here

Each Drink is judged by Coffee Fest veteran judges: Matt Milletto of American Barista & Coffee School and Barista Exchange, and Sarah Allen of Barista Magazine. Matt and Sarah will now be joined by coffee industry veteran Anna Gutierrez of Gourmet Source. Each of the judges compares the drink presented by the two competitors in each match and award 1 point to the competitor with the best presentation in each of the five categories. The competitor receiving the most points on each of the judge's scorecard will be the winner. The competitor will advance by virtue of the judge's scores of 3 to 0 sweep or 2 to 1.

The ultimate champion will earn a grand sum of $2,000. Second place pockets $1,000 and third place earns $500.

Sponsors: Nuova Simonelli provides the Aurelia espresso machines and MDX Grinders. Dillanos provides the coffee. Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is proud to present your Tournament Bracket.

**While Coffee Fest will provide some cups, we recommend that competitors provide their own steaming pitchers and cups to achieve their best result.
