Yes, I am that coffee and insurance guy...it's actually a pretty neat combo! My coffee journey started in 2007, when I first discovered roasting and started out on a popcorn popper in the garage. Coffee has always been a big part of my life and my passion for it has only grown. In 2015, I was working as a pilot and flight instructor, and decided to make a career change to insurance (don't ask me how, I have no clue). 2018 came along and I founded my company, small beanz coffee co. Life had some other plans so it was put on the back burner for a while. Fast forward to summer of 2023, and I began working on making my dream a reality. I guess you could say I work as an insurance underwriter by day, and moonlight as a coffee roaster?? Truthfully, I get the best of both worlds! I love my insurance career and I love this coffee journey I am on, what could be better? Sharing knowledge and educating others is a great passion of mine, so I thought, "why not introduce risk management concepts from my perspective as an insurance professional and coffee roaster?". Currently, I work as a Senior Casualty Underwriter for a large E&S Carrier and am a licensed Property & Casualty Producer in a handful of states. I look forward to sharing my take on risk management and hopefully giving you a list of great questions to ask your insurance agent!
