Duncan Allen-Burns
My name is Duncan Allen-Burns, owner and operator of Appaloosa Coffee. I started in coffee in 2006 but my love for coffee goes back to my childhood. Since 2006, I have worked in every type of specialty coffee shop from New York to Chicago to LA and back again. I have held virtually every position that one can work in the coffee industry from barista, to trainer, to manager, to roaster, to sales and administration, and as a sole proprietor. I have worked with and been trained by a World Barista Champion and had the pleasure to have worked alongside some of the most brilliant minds in coffee. I have worked with companies during phases of rapid expansion and ensured the consistent quality of the drinks and have overseen the training of a fast-growing staff. I am proud of the work I have done in specialty coffee, I love the work I am doing now, and I am eager and excited for the work I have yet to do.
